Marilyn graduated from Hamline University in 1953 with a degree in education. She devoted over 20 years to teaching elementary children in both Seattle, Wash., and Warsaw.
Upon retiring from teaching, Marilyn choose a new career in real estate. She was a real estate agent with Better Homes & Garden for over 15 years. Marilyn was a longtime resident of Warsaw and former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Warsaw.
She is survived by children and their spouses, Mark (Deb), of Phoenix, Ariz.; Bruce (Holly), of Fort Wayne; and Nancy (Tom) Sarkis, of Maple Grove, Minn.; grandchildren, Ross, Julie, Autumn, Kyle, Laura, Alexandra and Mitchell; along with five great-grandchildren; and brother, Merle (Carolyn) Knox, of Baird,Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ken Johnson; and her son, Paul Eric Johnson.
The funeral service is Monday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, Minn., with visitation at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
