To help control the cat population in Whitley County, a resident has arranged for the Neuter Scooter to make two visits to the Columbia City area – on Feb. 15 and 29. There will be a later visit on May 9.
The Neuter Scooter is a low-cost spay and neuter mobile clinic for cats only. Cats are dropped off in the morning and picked up later that same day. Registration must be done online at https://pub.vet Appointments are required; no walk-ins are permitted.
The cost for each cat is $60, and the cost for feral/wild cats in live traps is $30. Financial assistance may also be available for outside/barn cats by contacting event organizer Linda Hoffman at [email protected].
“While everyone loves cute kittens, there aren’t enough homes for all of them,” says event organizer Linda Hoffman. “An unspayed cat, her mate, and their offspring can produce over 11 million cats within nine years. If you want to save the lives of thousands of homeless cats, just spay or neuter one.”
