Vikings Roll Past Northfield In Three Rivers Conference Rout
WABASH – Tippecanoe Valley outscored host Northfield 36-12 in the second and third quarters to pull away for a 65-32 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball win Friday night.
The Vikings had three players in double figures; Nolan Cumberland had 20 points, Paul Leasure 13 and Braden Shepherd 11. Tanner Trippiedi had seven points, Dawson Perkins six, and Brendn Stump and D.J. Estep four points each for Valley.
The Norse won the junior varsity contest 25-22.
The Vikings improved to 4-7 (1-2 in the TRC) and will host Plymouth at 7:45 tonight.
Squires Balanced In Victory
NORTH MANCHESTER – All 10 players who suited up for the Squires scored in Manchester’s 59-34 win over visiting North Miami in a Three Rivers Conference boys basketball game Friday.
The host Squires bolted to a 15-6 lead after one period, and extended the advantage to 29-15 by halftime.
Senior Kreeden Krull had a dozen points to lead Manchester, with classmate Thane Creager adding 11 points. The remaining scorers were: Caleb Stout 8, Carter Bedke 6, Austin Underwood 6, Weston Hamby 5, Max Carter 4, Ridge Fierstos 3, Korbin Hensley 3 and Gabriel Case 1.
Manchester’s junior varsity scored in the game’s first five seconds, and never trailed in its 53-27 win over the Warriors. Maddox Zolman had 18 points, Ridge Fierstos eight, with Luke Ramer and Gabe Case getting six points each. Zolman and Caden Miller shared team-high honors with nine rebounds each.
In the “C” team game, Liam York paced the Squires with 22 points in a 48-34 Manchester win over North Miami. Jace Judy and Josh Hollinger had eight points each, with Kobe Flock and Bryce Mugford contributing three points each.
The Manchester varsity (5-6) is back in action today, hosting Fort Wayne Canterbury at 7:30 p.m.
Falcons Roll Past Triton
WALKERTON – Visiting Triton fell behind by six points at the end of the first quarter and never fully recovered in its 59-38 loss at John Glenn in a non-conference boys basketball game Friday night.
Ashton Oviedo had 11 points and Connor Large 10 to lead the Trojans. Quentin Amsden tossed in nine points, Jared Bules had three points, Tyson Yates and Cole McKinney had two points each and Keegan Westafer hit a free throw for Triton.
In the junior varsity game, Bruce Johnson had 15 points, McKinney had eight points Lucas Cabrera seven for Triton in a 49-39 loss to the Falcons.
Now 4-4, Triton returns to action right away, hosting Trinity (Greenlawn) for a non-conference game at 1 p.m. today in The Trench.
