A man unhappy with living at the Bowen Center is in jail for allegedly threatening to burn down the building and kicking an employee in the stomach.

Dalton James Jenney, 21, Argos, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 3:31 p.m. Tuesday and faces two charges of intimidation and a charge of battery with moderate bodily injury, all Level 6 felonies.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday in Kosciusko Superior Court I, on Wednesday Warsaw police responded to the Bowen Center after an employee called and said a battery had occurred.

Employees told police that Jenney had stated he was unhappy living at the Skills Center and allegedly said he was going to burn the building down. Another resident there told employees that earlier in the day Jenney had purchased a lighter from Walmart.

According to court papers, Jenney eventually surrendered the lighter to employees. When an employee later went into Jenney’s room and told him to get up from bed, Jenney kicked the employee extremely hard in the stomach and threatened to harm the employee more if she didn’t leave his room, according to the affidavit.

Jenney then allegedly packed his bags, demanded his lighter back and then told employees he was going to the gas station to get a lighter and when he got back, he was going to burn the building down.

His bond was set at $5,250.
