SYRACUSE – Joan McGinnis, 85, of Syracuse, passed away at 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

She was born on Sept. 12, 1934, in Goshen, to Loyal and Nellie Ebersole Sayles. She graduated from Goshen High School and was a former waitress in Indiana and Florida, and transported Amish families. She lived most of her life in the Goshen and Syracuse area and retired to Florida before returning to Indiana in 2010.

She formerly attended the Eighth Street Mennonite Church in Goshen.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhoda (Edward) Davis, of?Indianapolis; two sons: Ronald (Tammy) Graber, of Syracuse, and Randy Graber, of Okeechobee, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger Graber; infant daughter, Rhonda Graber; grandson, Jeremy Graber; two sisters, Dorothy and Beulah; and three brothers, Harold, Frank and Bobby.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Private burial will take place in the West Goshen Cemetery.
