MARGARITAVILLE – If you went to any show at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts during summer season 2019, you’ll likely remember Anthony Cataldo. He played some of the most memorable characters during the season – and was really good in them – from Mr. Wormwood in “Matilda” to Black ’Stache in “Peter and the Starcatcher.”

Cataldo is on the Broadway tour of Jimmy Buffet’s new musical, “Escape to Margaritaville!” and the Wagon Wheel is taking a bus trip to see him in the show on May 31. The bus departs at 9:15 a.m. and the cost is $125 per person, which covers the bus and show ticket. Payment is due April 17.

To secure your spot on the bus, call the Wagon Wheel box office at 574-267-8041. For more information, email [email protected].

Sounds as good of a deal as a “cheeseburger in paradise.”

“In communities throughout Indiana, CTE provides Hoosier students with hands-on experience and real-world skills to better prepare them for jobs of the 21st century,” said Young in a statement. “This resolution raises awareness and honors the pivotal role of CTE in addressing the skills gap and providing upward mobility for all Americans.”

NO SLEEP ’TIL LASALLE – If you’re like us, sleep is a luxury you don’t get enough of.

BUILD HOMES – The U.S. Census Bureau recently released statewide totals for building permits issued in January, showing 1,116 single-family permits were pulled permits for January. That is a 31% increase from January 2019. This number is down 12% from December 2019, when 1266 permits were pulled. The 1,116 permits pulled in January 2020 are up 31% from the 854 permits pulled in January 2019.

In a statement from the Indiana Builders Association, IBA CEO Rick Wajda said, “We are continuing to see demand for new housing across the Hoosier state. Given the temperate winter compared to 2019, we are optimistic for a strong year in 2020. However, we are still mindful of the challenges that home builders face with supplies and burdensome regulatory measures that continually threaten housing affordability at all price points.”

As the city of Warsaw, Kosciusko County and the Kosciusko County Community Foundation are looking at the housing shortage in the county, this information is promising at this point.
