Trojans Pull Away In Middle Quarters To Win

BREMEN – Breaking up a tie game after the first quarter, Triton outscored host Bremen 25-16 in the middle two quarters on its way to a 49-42 victory in a non-conference boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Ashton Oviedo paced the Trojans with 15 points, and Quentin Amsden had 11 in the winning effort. Other Trojans in the scorebook included: Tyson Yates 8, Tyler Heckaman 7, Jared Bules 4, John Gardner 3 and Hunter McIntyre 1. Heckaman pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

Carson?Miller led the Lions with 13 points and Trevor Devine added 12 for the home team.

In junior varsity play, Cole McKinney had 14 points to lead Triton to a 39-21 win over the Lions. Bruce Johnson added eight points, and Lucas Cabrera had seven points and eight rebounds. Other Trojans in the scorebook were: Cameron Shively 5, Nate Amsden 3 and Chandler Westafter 2.

Triton improved to 11-10 on the season, and the Trojans (3-3 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference) can assure themselves a winning season Friday night when Knox (11-9, 4-2 HNAC)?visits for the regular season and HNAC finale. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
