Choosing What's Wrong

Doing what is wrong over and over is called insanity. But as we've seen for too long it also means you might be a Democrat. I can't say many are losing their mind because you have to have a mind that can be lost. The attempted coup the Democrats lost when Trump was acquitted of the charges against him in the impeachment trial hasn't kept many Democrats from demanding another bite of the wormy apple the party has been polishing since before Trump was elected. Can we afford another wasted effort because Democrats are throwing a hissy fit that they didn't get their way?

Obama wanted around $1 trillion for infrastructure projects. Actually much of the money was used to pay off unions and too many road and bridges became more dangerous from lack of attention. That reminds me of what happened in New Orleans before Katrina struck. Money was supposed to be spent on levees and other systems to prevent flooding.  Instead, much of the money was spent on fountains and monuments and other projects that didn't prevent hundreds of deaths. Maybe with Trump being a builder for much of his life, things will be done to improve roads and bridges.

I like Trump.  But I have one big complaint against him.  The federal budget is going to be too large as it has been for decades. If it were increased according to inflation, we would have had a surplus for over three decades and the national debt would have been less than half or maybe a third of what it is today. But Trump is giving into too many "experts" that urge him to spend too much and not do anything to social security or medicare that would keep those programs from disappearing and hurting much of the population of America.

If the radical left got its way, the federal budget would have to nearly triple in size and taxes would be raised to over 150% for the richest 10%, which is impossible. The rich would move their money out of America which means investment capital would vaporize and our economy would collapse. The $15 an hour minimum wage would kill job growth and cause inflation to increase. The New Green Deal that would cripple our energy independence since we aren't ready for zero pollution systems to replace the energy systems that we depend on would allow China to pollute and become the biggest economy in the world. And what if the climate becomes much colder and we would have wasted trillions of dollars to do what the sun does naturally?

Can we afford to have Democrats win in November?   Their proposals could destroy our economy.  Calling what's wrong right is like calling a skunk a striped kitty.  It still stinks.
