Editor, Times-Union:
On Jan. 30, I was very surprised and honored to be awarded the Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year for 2019. I have lived and worked my whole life in this county and to be recognized means the world to me.
I would like to thank the following people and please forgive me if I unintentionally miss someone:
Rob Parker, his staff and the board of directors of the chamber, they do such a great job in honoring the spirit of community at this annual event.
The Times-Union for covering this event.
A special thanks to Doug Hanes from First Source Bank and David Slone of the Times-Union for sponsoring the awards for Man and Woman of the Year.
The current and past CEOs of Cardinal Services: Randy Hall, Jane Wear and Michelle Boxell, the community relations director. Kosciusko County has been very supportive of Cardinal since its inception over 57 years ago and has grown from helping a handful of people to now providing a vast array services for over 4,000 people in our community. I urge the community to continue to support Cardinal Services and the people they serve.
A special thanks to:
Leon Horn, a classmate and friend for over 70 years. Dana Krull, my dear friend for over 40 years.
Bob Bishop, last year’s recipient, it is such an honor to be included on this list of men who make a real difference in our community, and Suzie Light for the wonderful things she has done.
Lastly, a heartfelt thanks to my wonderful wife Molly, and our family who have supported me all these years. I thank all of you for this honor and will do my best to live up to the standard these men have set before me.
