Debra Collier’s School of Dance announced the addition of the Dancing for Birth program with a free sample class from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 15.
The class, designed for pre-conception, expecting, postpartum and baby-wearing mothers, allows mothers to dance their way into a new approach to prenatal/postpartum fitness and wellness. Weekly classes are offered for dancing through pregnancy, as well as after the birth with the baby secured in a sling or wrap.
Certified instructor Kristina Collier is passionate about this program and what it can offer to the mothers in our community.
“Following the birth of my daughter, I became very passionate about empowering expectant mothers and supporting postpartum mothers.  It is such an important phase of life for both parents and children, and this program impacts not just the physical but the emotional well-being of everyone too,” she said in a news release.
The class will be offered Friday mornings, 11 a.m. to noon, and Saturday mornings,10:30 to 11:30 a.m., beginning Feb. 21 and 22. Registration forms for the sample class and eight-week sessions are available at collierdance.com.
