Warsaw Community School students recently participated in the 31st Annual Scholastic Chess of Indiana contest.
The state finals was held on Jan. 25 at Pike High School in Indianapolis.
There were 80 students competing in the eighth and Under Middle School division.
Andrew Potter, an eighth-grade student at Lakeview, won five out of six matches to take second place.
Aiden Carr, an eighth-grade student at Edgewood, also won five out of six matches to finish fourth,
McKale Hagg, an eighth-grade student at Edgewood, finished with four wins, one loss and one draw to finish eighth.
