Tippecanoe Valley Gets Non-Conference Road Victory Over Winamac

WINAMAC – Dawson Perkins had 16 points and Paul Leasure 10 points in Tippecanoe Valley 57-49 boys basketball win at Winamac Saturday in non-conference play.

Nolan Cumberland had nine points, Rex Kirchenstien scored eight points, with Braden Shepherd and  Tanner Trippiedi tallying seven points each for the Vikings.

Tippecanoe Valley won the junior varsity game 41-36 over Winamac.

The Vikings (7-9) return to Three Rivers Conference play Thursday at Wabash.



Wildcats Roll At Home

SOUTH WHITLEY – Brett Sickafoose had 36 points to lead Whitko to a 81-58 Three Rivers Conference win over visiting Maconaquah in boys basketball Saturday.

Clayton Ebbinghouse had 17 points and Drake Lewis 11 in the winning cause. Rounding out the Wildcat scoring were: Kyler Bryant 7, William Rickerd 5, Cameron Sapp 2, Ryan Brown 2 and Aiden Hoffman, 1 point.

Whitko (6-8, 4-2 TRC) hosts North Miami for a conference tilt Thursday.



Warriors Sink Lakers

SYRACUSE – Austin Miller had 18 points to lead Wawasee to a 39-25 win over visiting Lakeland High School in non-conference boys basketball Saturday night at the Hardwood TeePee.

Miller was the only player from either team to score in double figures.

Wawasee’s remaining scorers were: Keaton Dukes 7, Ethan Hardy 6, Kam Salazar 3, Jack Stover 3 and Jaydon Boyer 2.

In junior varsity play, Caden Welty had 18 points, with Landon Gause and Collin Roberson scoring 12 points each for Wawasee in its 50-21 victory.

Wawasee (11-5) plays at Northridge in a Northern Lakes Conference game Thursday in Middlebury.



Squires Fall To Concordia

NORTH MANCHESTER – Kreeden Krull had 12 points and Max Carter added seven points for Manchester in its 52-35 home loss to Fort Wayne Concordia in a non-conference boys basketball loss Saturday night.

Carter Bedke and Thane Creager had five points, Austin Underwood had four points and Weston Hamby two to round out the Squire scoring.

Manchester (8-8) plays at Northfield Thursday in a Three Rivers Conference contest.



Trojans Fall in Overtime

BOURBON – Triton used a 12-0 second-quarter run to get back in the game after a shaky start, then visiting North Judson dominated after regulation in a 64-54 Blue Jay overtime win in Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys hoops at The Trojan  Trench Saturday.

Ashton Oviedo paced Triton with 14 poits, and Tyson Yates added 11 points. Hunter McIntyre had eight for the Trojans.

North Judson’s Cooper Hochstedler had a game-high 24 points.

Connor Large had 14 points in the junior varsity game for Triton in its 38-20 win. Cole Mckinney added eight points in the winning effort.

Triton (8-6, 2-2 HNAC) hosts Argos Thursday night.



Lady Cougars Win Big

WINONA LAKE – Senior tori Calizo had a huge double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead Lakeland Christian Academy doubled up visiting Clinton Christian 56-28 in the basketball regular-season finale for the Lady Cougars.

Natalie Norris had eight points, Alexis Miller added seven points, Jessi Calizo five and Finley Hobbs, Cara McCrum and Liv Miller had four points each. Jordan Gross hit a free throw to complete the Cougar scoring.

LCA (10-13) drew a bye on the opening round of the Class 1A North Miami Sectional, and will take on Southwood in a semifinal at 6 p.m. Friday in Denver.
