Mary Diane Baker, of Pierceton, passed away at 2:32 p.m. on Friday, Christmas Day, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne, at the age of 76.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1944, in Warsaw, to Almeta Louise Yarman Faulkner and Raymond Dee Faulkner.  On Feb. 2, 1964, she was married to Larry Eugene Baker. They raised two children and shared 56 years of marriage together before she passed away.

Mary was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where she was a 1962 graduate of Pierceton High School. Upon graduating, she attended Ravenscroft Beauty School in Fort Wayne and graduated in 1963. She owned and operated her own beauty shop until she retired in the early 90s.  She was always known as being a very kind and hospitable person.  The most important part of her life was her family – they meant the world to her. She especially loved to play cards with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary will forever be remembered as a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by everyone.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Larry Eugene Baker, Pierceton; daughter, Aleta (Chauncey) Smith, Pierceton; five grandchildren: Dustin (Carla) Baker, Brooks (Tyler) Smith, Jared (Taylor) Smith, Christopher (Rachel) Baker and Heather (Matt) Baker; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Devon (Linda) Faulkner, Warsaw.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Shawn Baker in 2020.           

Friends and family are invited to visit from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.  Mary will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton.
