Enciso Returns From Advanced Individual Training In Mississippi

By Staff Report-

Indiana Army National Guard Pvt. Bryan Enciso recently returned from Advanced Individual Training.

He completed his AIT at Gulf Port, Mississippi, and his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood.

AIT is “for your job title or your (Military Occupational Specialty). It is where your place in the Army is going to be,” he said Saturday while assisting with the unloading of toys from the RV used for last week’s Willie 103.5 annual toy drive for Toys for Tots.

Enciso is a masonry and carpentry specialist. He said that’s kind of unique in the Guard because not many members have the MOS he chose.

Of Enciso’s MOS, recruiter Staff Sgt. Randy Jackson said, “It’s a trade position, so we have trade positions open throughout the state, as well. So it’s not as though it was rare for him to get that position. We just need applicants to come in and fulfill a trade as well.”

Enciso said the original plan was for him to go active duty, but “National Guard would also benefit me because I wanted to build my life when I come back home, as well, and I wanted to go to college, too, and hopefully pursue my profession, which is to become an engineer, maybe electrical, and animation as well.”

He is a 2020 Warsaw Community High School graduate and the son of Alma Alvadro.

For more information about the National Guard, contact Jackson at 574-526-0537 or [email protected]

The National Guard armory is at 315 W. CR 350N, Warsaw.
