The Warsaw Lady Tigers kicked off conference play Tuesday night with a dominating 68-34 win on the road against the NorthWood Lady Panthers.

Warsaw jumped out to a 5-0 lead and continued to roll, finishing the first quarter with an 18-4 lead behind some intimidating defense from 6’2 junior Abby Sanner and 5’10 senior Audrey Grimm, complemented by balanced scoring from a number of Lady Tigers.

NorthWood picked up  some offensive momentum in the second quarter, narrowing the margin to 27-12 but the surge was short-lived as Warsaw continued with the hot hand, seemingly scoring at will.

Warsaw extended their lead to 22 and led 38-16 at halftime with junior Bailie Stephens topping all scorers with 12 points.

The Lady Tigers turned the ball over only twice in the first half but committed three quick turnovers to begin the second, allowing NorthWood to score seven quick points. A three by Kendall Wayne finally got Warsaw back in gear, at 41-23. Fellow senior Kensie Ryman sank five quick points moments later and the Lady Tigers were rolling again.

Warsaw finished the quarter with a 48-27 lead and continued the scoring barrage, pulling away in the fourth and improving to 5-2 on the season.

Ryman had three three-pointers and led Warsaw with 15 points. Sanner and Stephens each tallied 14 and two other Lady Tigers had eight or more points.

Tippecanoe Valley hosted a double header. The Lady Vikings beat Argos convincingly by a score of 59-39 while the Vikings lost 54-48.

The Wawasee Lady Warriors fell to West Noble by a score of 42-36.
