An eight-alarm fire at 3:41 a.m. Monday completely razed a barn and burnt another  in Warsaw and shut down morning commute traffic.

Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory was called to the Monday morning fully-engulfed fire at a large barn at the intersection of CR 300S and County Farm Road.

Within minutes, a second barn was on fire and the first barn was collapsing, and WWFT called for back up.

WWFT was assisted at the scene by Winona, Burket, Claypool, Silver Lake, Atwood, Leesburg and Pierceton fire departments with water tankers and manpower. Lutheran EMS was on scene to provide medical coverage, WWFT Public Information Officer Max Kinsey said.

By 5 a.m., firefighters were still applying water to rubbish fire and traffic was being rerouted as the fire was being battled.

The cause of the fire, along with estimated damage, was not determined by press time Monday night.
