Ray was born on Jan. 31, 1937, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to the late Swan and Gracie Pentigrass Hancock. He was married in 1970, in Warsaw, to Martha Conley; she survives.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 31 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Kent Harting officiating.
Burial will follow at Gaerte Cemetery, Macy.
