Lakeland Christian Falls To Bruins In Matchup Of Ranked Teams
GOSHEN – In a battle of boys soccer teams ranked in Class 1A, No. 12 Bethany Christian earned a 2-0 win over visiting Lakeland Christian, the No. 19 team in the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association rankings, Thursday.
The Bruins’ Collin Ward scored both goals, unassisted, in the 28th and 61st minute of the match.
The Cougars were credited with just three shots on goal, and Peter Koller was credited with 11 saves.
“I thought we played hard and executed our game plan, however I give credit to Bethany for two outstanding goals,” said Cougar head coach Dan Miller. “I thought Trey Avey played well in midfield, and Garrett McKeever was unfortunate not to score. I continue to be excited about the progress of this team and our season.”
LCA, now 2-1, travels to Hamlet to take on Oregon Davis Saturday.
