Warrior Boys Soccer Gets Win At South Bend Riley

SOUTH BEND – Ethan Carey scored twice, including once on a free kick, to lead Wawasee to a 2-1 win over host South Bend Riley in a non-conference boys soccer match Thursday.

The Warriors will take a 2-0 record into a match at West Noble Aug. 29.



Wawasee Splits 3-Way Match

LAGRANGE – Taylor Cripe posted a 41 and Tate Cowan a 43 to help Wawasee to a split of a three-way non-conference girls golf match Thursday. The Warriors’ score of 191 trailed Mishawaka Marian’s 179 and bested host Westview’s 224 at Heron Creek Golf Club.

Rylee Firestone had a 50 for Wawasee, with Ayia Torres at 57 amd Delaney DeLaGrange at 59.

Wawasee will open Northern Lakes Conference play Tuesday when the Warriors and Warsaw visit Northridge at Meadow Valley Golf Club in Middlebury.



Vikings Beat Bluejays

NORTH JUDSON – Tippecanoe Valley swept all three singles matcvhes en route to a 4-1 non-conference boys tennis win at North Judson Thursday.

Winners were Payton Mills, Dylan Neese and Owen Kirchenstein at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, respectively, all in straight sets. At No 1 doubles, Annakin Petit and Ethan Hartman needed a third-set tiebreaker to win.

The Vikings will compete in the Cass tournament on Saturday.
