Doris was born on Dec. 23, 1928, in Macy, to Robert and Miriam Fenters Baker. She was married on Oct. 3, 1948, in Macy, to Robert W. Ross; he preceded in her in death on May 4, 1992.
Doris lived a long and faith-filled life. She graduated from Fulton High School and furthered her education at Fort Wayne Business College. She had various jobs as a bookkeeper, retiring from Niff-Corr at the age of 70, but never retiring from living until her last day. She went skydiving at age 88 and loved every bit of life. She especially enjoyed her church life, first of Mentone Church of Christ and then of Rochester Church of Christ.
Survivors include sons: Gregory and wife Deborah Ross, of Randleman, N.C.; David and wife Natalie Ross, of Bourbon; and Alan and wife Laura Ross, of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Susan Ross and companion Tom Walters, of Palestine; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a granddaughter, Angela Ross.
No services are planned at this time.
A final remembrance place will be in the Horton – Mud Lake Chapel Cemetery, Fulton County, Macy.
Arrangements are entrusted to King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.
