The Kosciusko County Commissioners approved a service agreement with Parkview during a special meeting Friday.
To streamline the testing process while implementing safety precautions, Parkview Warsaw is requesting patients preregister for a testing appointment by calling 574-372-0030. Once patients arrive at the facility for their appointment, they will be asked to call the same number from their vehicles. Staff will arrange to meet them at their car or at a designated entrance to be escorted back to a private room for testing, according to a news release from Parkview Warsaw.
According to information from Mayor Joe Thallemer’s office, Parkview will be offering testing Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
MedStat has not suspended its testing and they have three testing sites in Kosciusko County:?Nappanee, Syracuse and Warsaw.
The commissioners also approved an memorandum of understanding between Kosciusko County and the city of Warsaw that includes Parkview Warsaw as an approved testing site and clarifies the difference in billing.
After the meeting, County Auditor Michelle Puckett said with the MedStat drive-through testing sites, both the city and the county paid for that with CARES Act funds. The city paid one-third and the county paid two-thirds. When the state came in to do the free testing, the state paid for it.
Parkview will bill the county for the testing.
Puckett said there will be no charge for people to get testing.
“It’s free testing to the individual,” she said.
According to county attorney Chad Miller, the county and Warsaw have allocated a certain amount of CARES Act funds that could be used for testing. The county allocated $200,000 and the city allocated $100,000.
