Wednesday’s agenda items included:
• Blake and Apryl Harris’s petition for preliminary plat approval for the replat of lot 4 in Brannon Estates included remonstrances by several neighbors who spoke at the meeting.
The property is on Big Barbee Lake between EMS B51A Lane and EMS B1A Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
The relocation of one building line far away from the lake shoreline to within 35 feet of the water’s edge and within the flood plain brought several observations by area residents who are concerned about drainage.
The possible removal of a huge cottonwood tree, which could be stabilizing the bank, was questioned.
Nearby property owners also wanted to know how a piece of ground was added to the lot without anyone knowing about it. The land addition was granted by the courts.
The item has been continued to the Sept. 2 plan commission meeting. The petitioners are to present a full drainage plan, corrected setbacks, which were missing, how potential easement relocations would affect drainage and what will be done to protect the shoreline if the cottonwood is removed.
• Deborah Meyer’s petition for preliminary plat approval for the replat of lot number 4 in Lake Forest was approved as presented. The request received a satisfactory review for drainage and sewage easements prior to the meeting.
The property is on the west side of EMS C29 Lane, 300 feet south of CR 450N in Plain Township.
• Michael Long’s petition for preliminary plat approval for a residential 2 lot development on a 5.5-acre tract of ground was approved as presented. The property is on the south side of Hoffman Lake Road, east of CR 800S in Prairie Township.
• LRB Estates final plat was approved as presented.
• No representative attended the meeting to discuss a vacation of a portion of right-of-way within Blueberry Island 4th Addition. The item was continued until the Sept. 2 meeting.
• Cynthia Brown’s petition to rezone ground from a residential to a commercial district on the north side of Crow Road and 250 feet west of East Wawasee in Turkey Creek Township was continued for another month. The petition will first be reviewed by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
