August 5, 2020 at 7:59 p.m.

By Staff Report-

SYRACUSE – Chautauqua-Wawasee is holding the sixth annual Oakwood Fine Arts Festival Aug. 15.

A special event plan (related to COVID-19) was submitted and approved by the Kosciusko County Health Department.

Due to the governor’s executive order, masks are required and attendees will practice 6-foot social distancing.

This year’s festival will feature 23 artists, which is fewer than prior years. In addition to artists, there will be one food vendor (The Rove), Huckleberry Winery, Naomi’s candies and Joe’s Ice Cream. Outdoor tables and seating are available.

The artists expressed the importance of shows like Oakwood’s, saying they are critically important to the artists who rely on them as selling opportunities, according to a news release provided about the event. With most of the large shows canceled, they are excited about Oakwood’s show because of Oakwood Resort’s outdoor venue. Also nearby is Oakwood Resort’s pier and Back Porch restaurant, which offers a full menu with both indoor and outdoor lakefront dining. Attendance is free. Ample parking is available.

The Lake Wawasee Oakwood Fine Arts Festival is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 15 at Oakwood Resort, Syracuse. Free, it is sponsored by Oakwood Foundation Chautauqua-Wawasee.
