By Staff Report-

Warsaw Community Schools has formed a Graduation Taskforce consisting of select senior students, parents, school board members and Warsaw Community High School faculty who are working to develop a plan to make graduation a special ceremony for all graduates.

WCS  continues to offer the opportunity to submit suggestions for the taskforce to review regarding potential alternative graduation options, according to a press release from WCS. The link is https://bit.ly/WCSClassof2020.

WCS has two important announcements for seniors should Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb lift the "stay-at-home" order. First, WCS is proposing a plan to distribute senior items for graduation. This would occur on May 8, stated the release. Organizers will establish a schedule by an assigned time-slot in alphabetical order according to the senior's last name. Details will be published and available on the district website. Students will pick up preordered announcements, caps, gowns, honor cords and Tri- Kappa Awards.

Any items not collected on May 8 can be retrieved from the WCHS main office beginning May 11. The WCHS main office is open from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday until May 28 for this purpose.

Second, principals and counselors are planning to work with Stephanie Overbey, CEO of Kosciusko County Community Foundation, to offer a "virtual" or taped senior awards night. More details will be published as they become available on the district website at warsawschools.org.
