NORTH WEBSTER – John A. Voland, 82, of North Webster, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1938, in Gas City, to John William and Mary Louise Murphy Voland.

He attended Gas City High School and lived most of his life in the North Webster area. He was married on Nov. 11, 1978, in Milford, to Diamantina M. Ramirez Aguilar, who preceded him on July 20, 2001. He retired in 2008 from Smoker Craft in New Paris after 40 years.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie in Syracuse and Warsaw and former member of the V.F.W. #1342 in Syracuse.

He is survived by four daughters: Laquieta (Wayne) Waite, of Indianapolis; Melissa Flynn, of Greenbrier, Tenn.; Darcy Sagar, of Greenbrier, Tenn.; and Valentina Voland, of Fort Wayne; son, Adam Aguilar, of North Webster; two stepdaughters: Edna Rekucki and Sola Carney, both of Warsaw; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Tom Voland, of Larwill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, John Charles Voland; and two brothers: Ronald and Bobby Voland.

Due to the current, unprecedented guidelines limiting public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus, cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. A private family graveside service will take place at the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with Wayne Waite officiating. A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date.

Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
