Barbara Ann Blackford, of Warsaw, passed away surrounded by family at her home at 9:08 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, due to natural causes at the age of 86.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1934, in Warsaw, to Lena Reed Rose and John Russell Rose. On Oct. 7, 1950, she was married to Myron Dean Blackford. They shared 69 years of marriage together before he passed away on Feb. 18, 2020.

Barbara and her husband were members of Community Bible Church in Warsaw. She worked for over 20 years at Uniroyal Inc. in Warsaw, where she mixed the colors for the various tanks. She loved going to work because she worked at Uniroyal with her husband, Dean, and they were able to retire together in 1995.  Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister… she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Russell (Amber) Blackford, Leesburg; three daughters: Myra Kimball, Warsaw; Rhonda Cox, Warsaw; Kelly (David) Walker, Warsaw; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Leek, Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister; three brothers; grandson, Russell B. Blackford Jr.; granddaughter, Tara L. Miller; and one great-grandson, Riley Blackford.

Barbara’s life will be celebrated with a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw on Monday, April 13 and officiated by Pastor Keith Rickert.

Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
