The past month has been one of constant change for all of us! Wawasee just completed three weeks of eLearning lessons, and we are at the beginning of a spring break through April 12. School schedules have been set for April 13 to May 1.
Thank you to parents, grandparents, caregivers and teachers for assisting students with their schoolwork. The situation for our community and country has been challenging, as has online learning and homework.
Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced that school buildings will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. Wawasee will continue providing the best possible education for the children of our community through the end of the school year.
Services including eLearning; food and learning packet distribution; online counseling, nursing, speech and special needs and technology will continue. We will work through a process to reschedule school events, such as graduation, whenever possible. As we make changes, we’ll let you know.
Our hearts are heavy that the virus has found our state and county, that children who want to be learning together are apart, that teachers can’t be physically present with their students, that school parents and others in our community have lost their jobs, and that we aren’t able to know the future events we will be facing. It’s a lot for adults to deal with together, and a lot for children to know at a young age. Thank you for supporting one another as a Wawasee community.
If you need answers that aren’t on our website or being sent using Parent Square or on other online locations, please contact our office at 574-457-3188 during weekdays.
