WCS Closes Physical Buildings For Remainder Of School Year

By Staff Report-

In light of Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb’s executive order Thursday, Warsaw Community Schools will extend the closing of physical school buildings through the end of the 2019-20 school year.

As previously messaged, Warsaw Community Schools and active student learning continues to stay open through eLearning lessons, meeting the requirements presented in the executive order, according to a news release from WCS.

WCS conducts eLearning each week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while using Tuesdays and Thursdays as student waiver days. WCS will continue under the current plan while it awaits further guidance from the governor’s office and the Indiana Department of Education. WCS will evaluate the situation and will communicate any changes as they become necessary.

Additionally, WCS services provided by food and nutrition, transportation and technology departments, teachers and the WCS nurse on-call will continue to provide services to students and the community. Specific modifications will be made and published in the near future. All updates will be posted on the FAQs Forum on the district website at warsawschools.org.
