High School Sports Recaps For Sept. 16

ALBION – Whitko boys tennis made the road trip to Central Noble worth the time Monday, taking a 5-0 win over the Cougars in non-conference play Monday night.

At No. 1 singles, David Ousley defeated Austin Frey 6-3, 6-1 while at  No. 2 singles Aiden Hoffman won 6-3, 6-0 against Austin Smith.

Bryce Tucker at No. 3 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of  Devon Akers and Jackson Hollenbaugh both won without dropping a game, and at No. 2 doubles, Kaige Michael and Jonathon Strayer won by default.

The Wildcats are back in action Wednesday for a Three Rivers Conference match at Rochester.

Singles: No. 1 – Mark Bahr (B) beat John Gardner (T) 6-4, 6-2; No. 2 – Carson Miller (B) beat Connor Large (T) 6-0, 7-5; No. 3 – Dawson Hickman (B) beat Gavin Greer (T) 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles: No. 1 – Shay Kyser & Mason Porter (B) beat Jared Bules & Tyler Heckaman (T)  6-0, 6-1; No. 2 – Brett Yelaska & Mariano DeLeon (B) beat Cole McKinney & Chandler Westafer (T) 6-1, 6-1.
