Warsaw senior kicker Harrison Mevis, via Twitter, announced he is “100% Committed!” to sign a letter of intent to play at the University of Missouri, a member of the Southeastern Conference in Columbia, Mo.

On Monday night Mevis, who is also a goalkeeper on the Tigers soccer team, said that he received a scholarship offer, and the Tweet implied he had accepted at that time.

“I am extremely honored, blessed and excited, to receive a full scholarship from the University of Missouri. Huge thanks to @CoachHillMizzou @Coach_Odom! @KohlsKicking @WarsawTigerFB @MizzouFootball #GoTigers #SEC,” said Mevis in the Tweet.

Roger Grossman, Warsaw sports information director, said at the time he had not committed, he confirmed to the Times-Union Thursday night Mevis has taken the next step.

“100% Committed! Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!” said Thursday’s Tweet.

The move cannot become “official” until the next college football signing period, which begins Dec. 19. A ceremony will likely be held on or shortly after that date.

Mevis is the younger brother of Andrew Mevis, who is currently a kicker for at Fordham University.
