Triton Volleyball Gets Conference Win Over Knox

BOURBON – Abbey Viers had 12 kills and Lexia Hostrawser added 10 kills for host Triton in its 25-9, 25-14, 25-10 win over Knox in Hoosier North Athletic Conference volleyball Wednesday.

Dylanie Miller had three aces and 11 assists, Emma Hepler had 25 assists, and Molly McFarland added 18 digs in the winning effort.

The Lady Trojan junior varsity won 25-18, 25-15 over Knox.

Triton will travel to Culver Academies at 10 a.m. Saturday for a non-conference match.



Whitko Tennis Wins

SOUTH WHITLEY – Getting a sweep of all three singles matches and winning at No. 1 doubles, Whitko earned a 4-1 win over visiting Fort Wayne Northrop in a non-conference boys tennis match Wednesday.

Aiden Hoffman won a three-set thriller at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 over Northrop’s Evan Kytta. David Ousley and Bryce Tucker won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, as did Devon Akers and Jackson Hollenbaugh at No. 2 doubles.

Whitko will host Triton for a non-conference match at 4:30 p.m. today.



Tigers Tame Pilgrims

Four Warsaw girls golf players broke 50 Wednesday, enabling the Tigers to beat Plymouth 185-198 in a Northern Lakes Conference match at Stonehenge Golf Club.

Marie Frazzetta led the Warsaw contingent with a 43, followed by Grayson Kilburn’s 45. Sydney Lancaster had a 48, Delaney Byron a 49 and Bethany Johnson 61 for the Tigers.

Warsaw is right back at it today, traveling to Bent Oak Golf club in Elkhart to take on Goshen and host Concord in NLC play this afternoon.



Wawasee Golf Splits

ELKHART – Wawasee split a pair of Northern Lakes Conference girls golf matches Wednesday, falling to host Concord 184-186 while besting Elkhart Memorial’s 202 at Christiana Creek Golf Club in Elkhart.

Belle Brunner paced the Warriors with a 42, with Taylor Cripe and Tate Cowan each posting a 46. Ava Harker had a 52 and Jadison Rostochak a 55.

The Warriors (10-2, 3-2 NLC) wrap up round robin NLC play today against NorthWood and host Plymouth.



Plymouth Handles Triton

PLYMOUTH – Cole McKinney won a three-set match for Triton in the Trojans’ 6-1 loss at Plymouth in non-conference boys tennis Wednesday.

McKinney won 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 over Liam Fort at No. 4 singles. Triton’s Nic Bagley dropped a three-set match at No. 2 singles; the remainder were straight-set decisions.

Triton travels to South Whitley to take on Whitko in a non-conference match at 4:30 p.m. today.



Valley Falls To Knox

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley got wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, but fell 3-2 to visiting Knox in non-conference boys tennis Wednesday.

Payton?Mills blanked Ethan Sanders 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Owen Kirchenstein won 6-4. 6-3 over Brock Taulbe at No. 3 singles. Russ Paxton and Ethan Hartman fell in three sets at No. 1 doubles.

In junior varsity play, Hunter Craft won a pair of singles matches, and Evan Harsh and Wyatt Reiter teamed up for a win in doubles play.

Valley is right back at it today, taking on LaVille in Lakeville.
