Warsaw Boys, Girls CC Get NLC Victories At Goshen
GOSHEN – Every place counted for the Warsaw Tiger boys cross country team in its 27-28 Northern Lakes Conference win at Goshen Tuesday. The Lady Tigers won handily, 18-45 over the RedHawks.
Jacob Kissling finished second overall for the Tigers in 17:39. Tanner Stiver was third in 17:45, Sam Lechlitner fifth in 17:50, Fernando Niebbia eighth in 18:11, Harrison Phipps ninth in 18:12 and Sam Slough 13th in 18:55.
The Lady Tigers were paced by Wini Barnett placing first, Amanda Lusinde second, Erika Bugg fourth, Ava Knight fifth, and Macelyn Marcuccilli rounding out the scoring. The Tigers take 16 of the top 20 spots, including nine of the top 10.
Next up for the Tigers is the Marion Invitational on the Indiana Wesleyan University campus at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Triton Tennis Blanks Lancers In HNAC Play
BOURBON – Winning all three singles matches at love and both doubles matches by forfeit, Triton rolled to a 5-0 win over visiting LaVille in Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys tennis Tuesday.
John Gardner, Connor Large and Gavin Greer did not lose a game at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles, respectively, for the Trojans.
Triton travels to Plymouth for a non-conference match today.
Tigers Edged By RedHawks
GOSHEN – Warsaw won both doubles matches, but fell short in a 3-2 loss at Goshen in Northern Lakes Conference boys tennis Tuesday.
Hayden Anderson and Michael Ray won a tight three-set match over Goshen’s Brenton Phan and Wyatt Fisher 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 1 doubles. Will Boren and Garrett Rodgers rolled to a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
Next up for Warsaw is a conference match at Plymouth Thursday.
Warrior Volleyball Downs Manchester
SYRACUSE – Liz Kleopfer had 10 kills, 16 assists and three aces to lead Wawasee to a 25-17, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22 non-conference volleyball win over visiting Manchester Tuesday night.
Kai Jamora had 23 assists, Leslie Vazquez had 19 digs and Molly Jones had a team-high 11 kills for Wawasee.
Statistics for Manchester were not available as of press time.
The junior varsity match went to Manchester, 24-25, 25-11, 15-12 over Wawasee.
The Warriors travel to Plymouth for a Northern Lakes Conference match Thursday. Manchester will host Columbia City on Tuesday.
Lady Squires Get TRC Win
NORTH MANCHESTER – Emma Garriott scored a first-half goal on an assist from Gabbie Brewer, and Brewer added an insurance goal after halftime to lead Manchester to a 2-0 Three Rivers Conference girls soccer win over North Miami Tuesday.
The Lady Squires host Huntington North at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Squire Golf Beats Whitko, West Noble
NORTH MANCHESTER – Sam Kissell shot a two-over par 38 at Sycamore Golf Club, good for medalist honors and leading Manchester to a pair of girls golf wins Tuesday. The Lady Squires’ team score of 219 bested Whitko’s 227 and West Noble’s 242.
Other scores for Manchester were Alissa Bickerstaff, 56; Kayla Hippensteel, 58; Delani Henderson, 67; and Chaynee Tennant, 70.
Guinny Garr paced the Wildcats with a 52. Chloe Hathaway shot a 53, and Abby Arter added a 58.
Manchester (5-4) travels to Arbor Trace Golf Club in Marion to take on host Oak Hill in non-conference play Thursday. Whitko will go to Chestnut Hills in Fort Wayne on Thursday to play Canterbury.
Valley Drops A Pair Of TRC Girls Golf Matches
ROCHESTER – Tippecanoe Valley’s Madelyn Weaver had a 44 to win medalist honors, and Kadence Mellottt posted a season-low 49 for Valley in their losses to Maconaquah and Rochester in Three Rivers Conference girls golf Tuesday.
Maconaquah got a pair of wins with a team score of 199 to Rochester’s 207 and Valley’s 221.
Other Viking scores were Molly Moriarty, 60; Cheney Canada, 66; Lily Ault, 68; Lydia Miller, 69; and Hestina Kim, 69.
Valley will play next at Honeywell Golf club in Wabash, taking on host Southwood in TRC play.
Squires Blank Valley
AKRON – Undefeated Manchester took an 8-0 win over Tippecanoe Valley in a Three Rivers Conference soccer match Tuesday.
Manchester travels to Columbia City for a non-conference match Thursday. Valley will head to bunker Hill for a TRC match with Maconaquah Thursday.
Warrior CC Hosts Plymouth, Northridge
SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s Lady Warriors gained a split of a pair of Northern Lakes Conference matchups Tuesday, beating Plymouth 23-36 while falling to Northridge 18-43.
The boys team lost to both schools by identical 19-42 scores.
Emma Ebright paced the Lady Warriors with a time of 21:14, good for third overall. Bailey Mayhew and Cammy Kryder were ninth and 10th with identical times of 23:36. Ella Beezley was 13th at 23:40, Mariah Hurst 14th at 24:03 and Autumn Turner 15th at 24:09.
Michael Hammer was third in the boys race in 17:19. Karlson Hand was 13th in 18:58; Cam?Powell 17th in 19:16; Thomas Conley 23rd in 19:38 and Trevor Smith 25th in 19:54.
Wawasee will take on Concord and host Goshen in NLC races on Tuesday.
Warriors Blanked By Memorial In NLC Play
SYRACUSE – Wawasee gave up a pair of second half goals in its 2-0 loss to visiting Elkhart Memorial in a Northern Lakes Conference boys soccer match at Warrior Field Tuesday.
The Warriors (0-1-4, 0-1 NLC) travel to Culver Academies for a 7:15 p.m. match tonight.
