Murph Damron, North Manchester Native Speaks On Modeling Career

NORTH MANCHESTER – The North Manchester Historical Society will welcome Murph Damron who will be summarizing her career as a model and stylist on Nov. 11.

The program will be in the assembly room at 6:30 p.m. at Timbercrest Retirement Center, 2201 East St., North Manchester. It is open to the public at no cost and will be for audiences of all ages.  

Murph Damron, a North Manchester native and former model and fashion show producer, worked in the fashion industry back when Betsy Johnson was a newcomer and during the “Swing’n 60s” scene. Damron has modeled in Paris and London, living for 14 year in London.

Damron is one of Indianapolis’s premier personal stylists, fashion show producer and wardrobe consultant. She has done many speaking engagements with companies and organizations on fashion and work related attire styling topics for women and men alike.

Magazines in which Murph has appeared include American Vogue, British Vogue, Mademoiselle, Glamour, Queen, Elle and Honey Magazine. Murph wrote the “Murph Series” for the 19 Magazine. Her modeling photos have appeared in newspapers in both the US and Europe. In 2018, the Fashion Arts Society of Indiana Museum of Art honored Murph and her life in fashion with the "Hall of Fame Award."
