Valley Blanks Squires; Stays In Three Rivers Conference Race

MANCHESTER – Dakota Gaff had touchdown runs of 33, 1 and 3 yards to lead Tippecanoe Valley to a 25-0 victory over Manchester Friday night and keep alive hope of a share of the Three Rivers Conference football crown.

Gaff finished with 157 yards rushing on 18 carries, and Jaydin Conley had 93 yards on 20 carries. Jalen Potter had two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown.

The win means the Vikings (6-2, 6-1 TRC) kept pace in the conference race with Southwood, a 31-0 winner over visiting Rochester Friday night. Valley hosts the Knights (8-0, 7-0 TRC) Friday and a Viking win gives them a share of the conference crown.

For Manchester, quarterback Devin Marcum had 21 yards rushing on 11 carries. He also completed six of 13 passes for 85 yards, including a 46-yard completion to Thane Creager. Braxton Ream had a 23-yard reception as well. Dylan Stroud led the defense with fice tackles, with Ty Rooney, Ream, Creager and Jason Miller recording four tackles each.

The Squires (2-6, 2-5 TRC) close out the regular season hosting Peru (4-4, 3-4) Friday night.



Norse Blank Wildcats

WABASH – Whitko had three rushers gain at least 38 yards each in its 24-0 loss at Northfield in a Three  Rivers Conference football game Friday night.

Ashton Schuh had 40 yards on 10 carries, Cade Berg had 38 yards on six carries, and Riley Young carried the ball three times for his 38 yards. Ethan Schuh had three tackles for the Wildcats.

Whitko (0-8, 0-7 TRC) wraps up the regular season hosting Wabash (3-5. 2-5 TRC) Friday night.



Knox Ground Game Too Much For Trojans

KNOX – Triton sophomore Gavyn Ness gave visiting Triton an early lead with a 40-yard touchdown run, but Knox used a wet field and a superior rushing game to take a 28-6 win in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference football game Friday.

Knox ran the ball on 41 of 49 plays and gained 325 yards. junior fullback Payton Baugh  had 16 carries for 111 yards and three touchdowns for the home team.

Trojan quarterback Connor Pitney completed nine of 18 passes for 112 yards. Quentin Amsden had four catches for 66 yards, including a 54-yard reception. Hunter McIntyre led the visitors with 53 yards rushing.

Triton (2-6, 1-5 HNAC) closes the regular season at Winamac (3-5, 1-5) Friday night.



Chargers Thwart Warrior Comeback Effort


SYRACUSE – Trailing 14-0 at halftime, host Wawasee came back to tie its Northern Lakes Conference football game with Elkhart Memorial early in the fourth quarter before falling 21-14 Friday night.

Quarterback Parker Young had 106 yards passing and a touchdown pass to Ethan Garza. Parker also ran the ball 22 times for 56 yards. Kameron Salazar had three catches for 63 yards, and Garza had three more for 43 yards.

Wawasee (1-7, 0-6 NLC) closes its regular season at Goshen (1-7, 0-6) Friday night.
