INDIANAPOLIS – During its October meeting Thursday morning, the IHSAA Executive Committee unanimously approved the plans for this year’s  boys and girls basketball state tournaments including the host sites at each level.

Among the changes are the Warsaw Lady Tigers hosting the Class 4A Sectional 4 tournament at the Tiger Den. Other teams in the seven-school tourney are Concord, Elkhart Central, Elkhart Memorial, Goshen, Northridge and Penn. The winner will advance to the LaPorte regional.

In 2021, the sectional will be reduced to six teams when the Elkhart schools merge.

Tippecanoe Valley and Wawasee’s girls teams will play in the Class 3A sectional at Lakeland High School in LaGrange. Other schools in the six-team sectional are Central Noble, NorthWood and West Noble. The tourney willer advances to play in the Jimtown regional.

In Class 2A, Whitko will play in the Bluffton sectional with Adams Central, Churubusco, Eastside, Fort Wayne Canterbury and South Adams. That sectional winner plays in the Winamac regional.

Manchester will play in the 2A Cass sectional with Carroll (Flora), Delphi, Rochester and Wabash. The winner advanced to the Frankton sectional.

Triton will play in the 1A Culver Community sectional with Argos, LaCrosse, Oregon-Davis and West Central.  That sectional winner plays in the Caston regional.

Lakeland Christian will play in the 1A North Miami sectional with Northfield, Southern Wells and Southwood. The winner advances to the Tri-Central regional.

In keeping with tradition, Warsaw’s boys team will play at the Class 4A Elkhart sectional at venerable West Side Gym. The host is Elkhart Central, and includes Penn and Northern Lakes Conference teams Elkhart Memorial, Goshen and  Northridge. The winner advanced to the regional at Michigan City.

Wawasee and Tippecanoe Valley are in the 3A NorthWood sectional in Nappanee with Lakeland and West Noble. The winner of the five-team sectional will venture to New Castle for regional play.

Manchester hosts a 2A sectional with Whitko Adams Central, Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, Bluffton, Fort Wayne Canterbury, South Adams and Wabash.  The winner of the eight-team sectional advances to the North Judson regional.

Triton hosts a 1A sectional with Argos, Culver Community, LaCrosse and West Central. The sectional winner returns for the Triton regional.

Lakeland Christian will play in the Southern Wells sectional with Smith Academy and Three Rivers conference teams North Miami, Northfield and Southwood. That winner goes to Frankfort for regional play.

The girls tournament begins with sectional games Feb. 4-8, regionals on Feb. 15, semi-states on Feb. 22 and the state finals on Feb. 29.

Sectionals for the boys tournament run March 3-7, regionals on March 14, semi-states on March 21 and the  state finals on March 28.
