Vikings Fall From Conference Lead With Loss To Maconaquah
BUNKER HILL – Host Maconaquah got a long touchdown run in the middle of the first quarter, and the Braves never looked back in a 24-3 win over Tippecanoe Valley in Three Rivers Conference football Friday night.
The loss puts both teams in a tie for second place in the conference at 5-1, trailing Southwood by a game. The Knights were a 35-0 winner at Peru Friday, keeping their perfect season alive.
Tanner Trippiedi completed seven of 22 passes for 163 yards, but was picked off twice. He was also the leading Viking rusher, gaining 48 yards on seven carries.
Jacob Davis caught four passes for 87 yards and Jalen Potter had three catches for 76 yards. The Viking points came on a 33-yard field goal by Domingo Santiago as time expired in the second quarter.
Valley (5-2 overall) hosts travels to Manchester for a TRC game Friday.

BOURBON – Triton never got its offense untracked Friday night in its 13-7 Hoosier North Athletic Conference football home loss to visiting North Judson.
Conner Pitney completed five of 17 passes for 79 yards and was intercepted twice. Hunter McIntyre had 42 yards rushing on 14 carries.
The lone Trojan score came on Quentin Amsden’s 20-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Triton (2-5, 1-4 HNAC) travels to Class 3A No. 8 Knox for a conference game Friday.

WINONA LAKE – Parker Stewart scored in the 77th minute, assisted by Matthew Helton, to give Lakeland Christian a 1-0 Northern Indiana Soccer Conference boys soccer win over Trinity School at Greenlawn Friday.
Peter Koller got the shutout in goal for the Cougars, making 19 saves.
"This was a fantastic and competitive match,” said LCA head coach Dan?Miller. “We showed great resilience to bounce back from our poor effort on Tuesday. Parker Stewart had a phenomenal goal, and Landon Paris lead our defensive effort. Aiden McQuade and Brayden Lane played really well in midfield, and Peter Koller in goal had one of his best games of the season. This is the first time in many years that we’ve won two conference games, and guys earned."
The Cougars (10-5, 2-3 NISC) are right back at it, wrapping up their regular season at Rochester at 10 a.m. today.
