The Four Seasons Ladies Bridge met Wednesday at Grace Village. Winners were Peg Zimmerman, Liz Frazetta and Barbara Calhan. Zimmerman was hostess.
Last Monday Euchre Club To Meet Oct. 28
The Last Monday Euchre Club met at the Warsaw Senior Center Monday. High winner was Toni Wilson, most lones were Bonnie Celeveland and Mary Lou Laurino and low was Nancy Church. The next meeting will be at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Warsaw Senior Center.
Wednesday Night Bridge Invites Others
Wednesday Night Bridge played Wednesday. The group had five tables with the following winners: Janet Wagley, Liz Frazzetta, Betty Walston, Judy Stewart, John Wagley and Virginia Horn. John and Janet Wagley are host and hostess for October. The next meeting is on Wednesday. The group would like to share its bridge night with interested bridge players. If interested, call Janet Wagley 574-268-1330.
Bridge At SPEC In North Webster
Bridge at SPEC played Tuesday. Jerry Hendrick came in first and Jean Cowan came in second. The club also played Thursday. Dick Sutton came in first and Kay Sutton came in second. The Suttons are celebrating their 60th anniversary Friday, so they started celebrating Thursday.
Grace Thursday Bridge
Grace Thursday Bridge met Thursday. Sharon Tuttle was hostess. Winners were Betty Walston, Tuttle and Joyce Latta.
Daughters of the American Revolution
Agnes Pruyn Chapman Daughters of the American Revolution met at noon Sept. 24 at Richard’s Restaurant, Warsaw, with 10 members and one guest present. The chapter wrote thank-you notes to veterans taking the next honor flight to Washington, D.C. from Kosciusko County.
The program was presented by Suzanne from KC Recycling Depot. As education outreach coordinator, Suzanne goes to schools and organizations in the county except Styrofoam and all glass jars or bottles. No plastic wrap or plastic film can be recycled there. They take in batteries, electronics and good paint and stain products. They have a reuse room where the public can receive paint or stain at no charge. There is a flat charge of $5 to recycle any TV. They aren’t able to take in anything with Freon.
Following the program, Regent Kathy Gawthrop called the meeting to order with the DAR opening rituals and read the president general’s message. Paulene Holderman gave the national defense report on “September Dates of Ntes” in the history of the country.
The group received a thank-you note from Anthony Bass of Warsaw High School, who was the Good Citizen Award winner. Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 is the Indiana DAR workshop and fall forum at Indianapolis.
The group is still collecting Boxtops For Education to be sent to DAR schools. These can be brought to any meeting. The group is also collecting new socks and underwear, bot men’s and women’s for low-income and homeless veterans.
Our next meeting will be at noon Oct. 22 at Richard’s Restaurant, Warsaw. Brenda Utter of Grace College will be presenting a program on purposeful incarceration.
