Kruschwitz Scores 100th Career Goal In Win

DENVER, Ind. – Manchester senior Harley Kruschwitz scored his 100th career goal, helping the Squires to a 7-0 win at North Miami and clinching the Three Rivers Conference boys soccer title.

Kruschwitz scored three goals Wednesday, has scored in every game this season, and ranks second nationally in points (goals plus assists). The Squires outscored TRC opponents 51-0 this season.

Caleb Stout scored twice, with Dylan Rosen and Michael Ortiz also finding the net.

Class 2A No 9 Manchester (15-0, 6-0 TRC) will host South Adams in a non-conference match at 10 a.m. Saturday at Good Field.



Lady Squires Take Title With Shutout Win

NORTH MANCHESTER – Emma Garriott scored twice and Beletu Stout scored a first-half goal in Manchester’s 3-0 win over visiting Peru Wednesday, giving the Lady Squires their 14th straight win and the Three Rivers Conference title outright.

Now 14-1, Class 1A No. 20 Manchester will host South Adams at 10 a.m. Saturday, the same time as the boys game, also at Good Field.



Triton Falls

In Sectional Opener

BREMEN – Triton saw its boys tennis season come to a conclusion with a 5-0 loss to host Bremen in the opening round of the IHSAA sectional Wednesday.

Bremen’s Mark Bahr won 6-1, 6-0 over John Gardner at No. 1 singles, and the Lions’ Carson Miller won a 6-1, 6-1 over Connor Large at No. 2 singles. Dawson Hickman won the No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-0 over Gavin Greer.

In doubles play, Shay Kyser and Mason Porter won 6-0, 6-0 over Jared Bules and Tyler Heckaman at the No. 1 position, and Brett Yelaska and Mariano DeLeon took a 6-0, 6-1 win over Cole Mckinney and Chandler Westafer in the other doubles match.

The Trojans finish their season at 8-10.

PERU – Manchester’s boys tennis season ended Wednesday with a 4-1 loss to Maconaquah at the Peru Sectional.
