PIERCETON – Tim Sammons, Pierceton Police Department chief, recently received new digital dual band portable handheld radios for his police officers.

The cost of the two radios, $6,715.66, was provided by a grant through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the Kosciusko County Emergency Management Office.

Sammons said he is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Edward Rock, director of the Kosciusko County Emergency Management Office.

Sammons said, “I’m very appreciative for Director Rock’s assistance. This amount of money is difficult for small towns to pay out of their budget. This grant funding is very helpful.”

The total amount of the grant was $20,147, and supplied six digital duel band radios total for emergency agencies throughout Kosciusko County.
