Dave was born on May 26, 1947, in Winchester, to Robert Charles and Louise Delk Anderson. He was married to Jenilee Lundy on Sept. 23, 1967, in North Webster.
He graduated from North Webster High School and attended Ball State University. Dave worked in law enforcement as an Indiana conservation officer from 1971 to 2002, retiring with 31 years of service. He was a rescue diver on the first state dive team consisting of the Indiana Conservation Department and the Indiana State Police. In addition, he was a longtime instructor of hunter education. For several years he was a conservation officer/instructor at C.O. Camp Mollenhour in Silver Lake. He was also a longtime FOP member, where he formerly served as secretary and was a life member and benefactor of the NRA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Dave faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1972 as an E-5 aviation mechanic aboard the USS Bennington and USS Ranger aircraft carriers.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jenilee; son, Brett (Sarah) Anderson, of Warsaw; siblings: Janlyn (Keith) Schumacher, of Fort Wayne; Dean (Sandi) Anderson, of North Webster; grandchildren, Cody Anderson, of North Webster; Clay Anderson, of Fort Collins, Colo.; stepgrandchildren, London and Roman Hoffman, both of Warsaw; great-granddaughter, Malia Anderson; and step-grandchild, Makaya Natalia Gohlke. Also, surviving is a sister-in-law, Linda Anderson, of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Charles Anderson Jr., of Pennsylvania.
Services will be held at a later date.
