Over 20 vendors will sell decorated gourds, bird houses, handmade jewelry, dog accessories, home décor, Christmas ornaments and décor, photo note cards, handbags, honey, vinyl crafts, Tupperware, towel bags, Paparazzi jewelry, handmade pillows and blankets, knitted items, Thirty-One gifts, journals, custom apparel and more.
There will be a bake sale with baked goods donated by church members to raise funds for the church’s youth activities fund.
The high school youth will be serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu consists of vegetable beef stew and chili made by church members. Hot dogs, sloppy joes, nachos and a variety of pies also fill the menu.
The Creek's congregation has hosted this event annually for over 15 years as a fundraiser for the youth summer mission trip. In the past, the youth have been able to take trips through the organization YouthWorks. They have gone in recent years to locations, such as Washington, D.C., Toronto Canada and Brooklyn, N.Y. The youth plan to travel to the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina for summer 2020.
First Christian To Hold A Special Service
First Christian Church, 115 Park Ridge Drive, Warsaw, will hold a special worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. A Thanksgiving celebration lunch with catering by Big Boss BBQ will follow at 11 a.m. The worship service will consist of welcoming Jonathan and Emily Martin as they lead music worship with “The Word in Worship.”
The Martins’ ministry is called “The Word in Worship” and they write songs and devotions out of what God is teaching them through the Word.
In their own words, the Martins are a “short, traveling musical family.” They like to refer to themselves as “travel sized,” which is perfect because they have spent the last eight years traveling the country together leading worship and sharing the songs that they write.
They have released four EPs over the last several years along with a worship album that they released with the help of LifeWay in 2017. Their second EP, “Set Your Eyes,” was reviewed and featured in Worship Leader Magazine and the song “Set Your Eyes” from this project was also featured in the 2014 Easter edition of Song Discovery. In addition, their songs, “Not Our Home” and “Psalm 42,” were published by LifeWay Songs and rereleased in their 2016 and 2017 compilation albums titled “Songs of Faith” and “Psalms and Songs.” Their most recent release “You’re Not Through With Me Yet,” was published and released by LifeWay Songs in March 2018.
