Fundraiser To Be Held For Mission Trip

 Nelson's Port-A-Pit Fundraiser for Guatemala Mission Trip will be held. Friday and Saturday from 11a.m.- 6 p.m. or until sold out at JB's Furniture Parking Lot, 2101 E. Center Street, Warsaw.

Chicken wil be $7.50, pork chops will be$7.50, BBQ baby back ribs will be$12.00 and pit-tatoes wil be $4.50.

Amish Fried Pies will be available in a variety of flavors, $4 each or three for $10.

Join us for boat-in worship each Sunday from 8:30 to 9 a.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day on Lake Wawasee in Syracuse.

You are invited to this half hour boat-in orship service - by land or by lake.  Sit on shore at Oakwood Resort or by water on the S.S. Lilly Pad that leaves from The Frog Tavern, or drop your anchor alongside the tavern.

Each Sunday features a different speaker and musical group.  The first Sunday’s speaker is Harlan Steffen.  He will tell the story of boat-in’s 50-year history with help from a Paul Harvey recording.

Janet Norris will give an musical performance.

This service is sponsored by the Syracuse-Wawasee Ministerial Association and frequently has an attendance over 1,000 people.



Items Sought For St. Anne’s Garage Sale

St. Anne’s Episcopal Church is asking the public to consider donating quality items for its annual garage sale.  

Anyone with an operational vehicle, boat, canoe, lawn tractor, etc., they want to donate may call Doug Blatz (260-571-6637) or Frank Sapper (574-527-0610) to arrange for the item to be picked up.  

Donations may also be dropped off at the Family Arts Building at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds beginning at 10 a.m. June 1 to 2.  

The sale runs June 5 to 7. Customers will be able to shop in an air-conditioned building, and food vendors will offer a variety of items for purchase.   



New Rector Will Be Installed Friday

St. Anne’s Episcopal Church will install its new rector, Fr. Ryan Fischer, in a special ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday.  

The Right Rev. Dr. Douglas E. Sparks, bishop of Northern Indiana, will preside at the service. The Rev. Lowell G. Almen, secretary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America from 1987-2007, will deliver the sermon.  

The community is invited to attend.

Summer Worship Schedule Switched

AKRON - Beaver Dam UMC in Akron will be switching to its summer worship schedule starting Sunday at 8 a.m. Lakeside Service will be held at the boat launch/landing of Beaver Dam Lake, the fellowship time will be held at the church at 9 a.m.  and Combined Worship Service will be held at the church starting at 9:30 a.m.  Children in preschool to fifth grade are also encouraged to register for upcoming Vacation Bible School, June 10-14 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The theme this year is "In the Wild - Amazing Encounters with Jesus!"



Sunday School Announced

CLAYPOOL - Claypool U M Church will have Sunday school at 9 a.m.

  Church will be at 10:20a.m.  A Memorial of memories. sermon  will be "The Healing of the Nations" by Pastor Mike.

Everyone is welcome.



Warsaw Family Worship Dinner

Warsaw Family Worship Center is having a salisbury steak dinner, including dessert  Saturday 4 to 7pm. Donations at the door. For more information, call 574-267-7210.



Pastor Appointed To Area Church

WINONA LAKE - On May 5, Pastor David B. Kyle was appointed to the Celebration United Methodist Church in Winona Lake. Pastor Dave and his wife, Sharon, were from Alexandria.

Pastor Dave has been in the service of God for 26 years. He and his wife came to Warsaw 2 1/2 years ago and attended Leesburg UMC.

Dave retired from his last church about five years ago but has served by filling in for many pastors during his retirement. Celebration Church seemed like a perfect fit so he decided to fill the pulpit full time again.

The church had a carry-in dinner ?Sunday at to welcome Pastor Dave and Sharon, as well as Sharon's mom, Bobbie, into the church. The members of Celebration are so glad to have Pastor Dave and look forward to his leadership and his help in the community more fully.
