Tippecanoe Valley seniors Tiphanie Hodge and Makenna Bradley have worked together all season long on the tennis court, winning four matches last week at No. 1 doubles to extend their season record to 14-1. They earned the Times-Union Athlete of the Week honor for the week of May 6-11 together as well.

Off the court, Hodge is an intern at Mentone Elementary School and is planning to study criminal justice at IUSB, with hopes of eventually becoming a lawyer.

Bradley also has an internship, hers at Akron Elementary. She plans to study elementary education with an eye toward teaching first grade in her career.

On the courts, the duo has worked their way to being one of the top doubles teams in the Three Rivers Conference.

“They started playing together in the middle of last season, and I’ve seen the hard work and improvement they’ve made since then,’ said Valley head coach Andrew Luce. “I’m proud of them, and they are proof of how hard work pays off.”
