Two 7-Run Frames Help Warriors Rout Memorial

SYRACUSE – Wawasee scored seven runs in both the third and fourth innings, turning a close game into a 16-1, five-inning rout of visiting Elkhart Memorial in Northern Lakes Conference softball Friday.

The Warriors socked five home runs in the contest, with Delaney Hare going deep twice and driving in four runs. Abigayle Smith had a homer, a double, a single, scored three times and three RBI’s. Olivia Stuck homered, singled, scored twice and drove in three. Bethany Flannery also homered and drove in three runs.

Kiaundra Olson relieved Flannery in the first inning in the pitcher’s circle, allowing four hits and no runs while striking out three and getting the win.

Because of all the rain this week, Wawasee has a unique NLC doubleheader today, traveling to Concord to play the Minutemen in the morning, then heading to the Memorial campus to play Warsaw. The Tigers play at Memorial this morning.
