Joan A. Cox, age 92, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in Warsaw.

She was born in Montpelier, Ohio, on July 2, 1926, to Alfred and Theresa Smith Grant. She was united in marriage to Ellis N. Cox on March 2, 1946, in Montpelier, Ohio.

Joan was a resident in Warsaw for 64 years. She was employed at Kimm Paint Store in Warsaw for 25 years.

She attended WCC Warsaw. She loved hanging out with her friends at the local McDonald’s.

Her greatest passion in life was being a mother. She left behind nothing but beautiful memories for her children and those who knew her.

Joan is survived by two sons, Michael (spouse Mary Jo) Cox and David (spouse Cathy) Cox, and two daughters, Patty (spouse Doug) Moore and Cathy (spouse Robert) Barth, all of Warsaw; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Max Grant of Montpelier, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis N. Cox; a grandson, Ryan Cox; one brother, Joe Grant; and a step-father, Melvin Worthington.

Visitation hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday May 8, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.

Funeral services will also be on Wednesday, May 8, at 1 p.m. in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Steve Rahn officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
