Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary met April 22 for their annual members spring luncheon meeting. Members were thanked for their participation in the Soup and Pie Luncheon event held on April 17. A new budget was approved and officers were elected for the coming year.

Judy Cleveland shared information on the Salvation Army's Canteen presentation to area firefighters and the services that the SA can provide during a crisis.

A food service training program is being offered to anyone interested in assisting in disaster relief. This will be held Thursday at the SA from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 574-267-5361 to register.

Ken Locke and Major Trish Welch were featured inspirational speakers at the luncheon.

The next meeting on May 20 will be held at the SA at 9:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.



Frances Slocum Chapter, INDAR

Wabash County Frances Slocum Chapter, INDAR will meet May 14 at 7 p.m. at the Grandstaff Hentgen Activity Room, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash.

The program will be about the life of North Manchester World War I veteran nurse Verna Ulrey Kitson, presented by Joyce Joy. Prospective members and guests are welcome to attend.

DAR membership is open to any woman 18 and older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. Those having questions about their family history lineage information may contact www.dar.org or Linda Thompson at 260-563-4661 or Barbara Amiss at 260-982-4376.



Last Monday Euchre Club

The Last Monday Euchre Club met at The Warsaw Senior Center on April 29.

High winners were Arlene Brooke and Nancy Church, most lones were Pat Doyle and Mary Grubbs. Low was Bonnie Jagodzinki.

The next meeting will be May 20 at the Warsaw Senior Center at 12:30 p.m.



Four Seasons Ladies Bridge

WINONA LAKE – The Four Seasons Ladies Bridge group gathered May 1 at Grace Village.

Winners were Sharon Holtz, Beth Huffer, Judy Stewart and Pauline Holderman.

Liz Frazzetta was hostess.



Wednesday Night Bridge

On May 1 the Wednesday Night Bridge group had a recent high of six tables.

Winners were Dorothy Herring, Mike Herring, Grant Magner, Annette Magner, Jean Cowan, John Wagley and Mary Thompson.

Janet and John Wagley are hostess and host for May.

Grace Thursday Bridge

Grace Thursday Bridge met this week with Paulene Holderman as hostess.

Winners were Sharon Tuttle, Joan Earhart and Judy Stewart.



North Webster Community Center SPEC

NORTH WEBSTER – Results of bridge at the Senior Prime Enrichment Center have been reported.

On Thursday, Kay Sutton was first and Dick Sutton was second.

No bridge was played on Tuesday.
