May 1, 2019 at 1:12 a.m.

After attempting to slash a police officer with a box cutter, a Milford woman is facing charges of battery and intimidation with a deadly weapon.

Christina Diane Golden, 56, of 602 W. Section St., #114, Milford, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:45 p.m. Friday for battery committed with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $20,000 surety and $250 cash.

Court documents filed Friday list the charges against her as battery while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a level 6 felony.

On April 24, Milford Police officer Eric Kelley served an arrest warrant for counterfeiting on Golden. He handcuffed Golden  in front of her body because of a shoulder injury.

As Kelley was taking Golden to the county jail, she became very abusive to him at Ind. 15 and U.S. 30  and was yelling that she was not going to jail. At Main and Detroit streets, Golden removed a box cutter from under her shirt with the blade extended and screamed that she would kill Kelley. She attempted to cut Kelley on the right arm.

Kelley was able to get his patrol vehicle stopped, and Golden attempted to slash him with the knife and bit and clawed at him. Kelley was able to twist Golden’s handcuffs to force her to drop the knife. He was able to secure Golden until officers arrived and she was taken to the county jail.
