Camp Mollenhour Meets Endowment Challenge 50

On Tuesday, the Foundation announced C.O. Mollenhour Conservation Camp successfully completed the fundraising portion of the challenge.
Participating organizations committed to raising $10,000 for their endowment and to participate in multiple trainings focused on sustainability and donor development. In return, the youth serving organizations would receive $40,000 in matching funds for a total of $50,000 for their endowment funds.
“Camp Mollenhour has been serving youth in our county since 1938,” said Suzie Light, Community Foundation CEO. “The growth of their endowment will enable them to continue teaching young people about the environment and conservation for many years to come."
Endowment funds provide a charity with a consistent annual stream of revenue. The principle is not spent. It is invested and the earnings from that investment support the work of the charity, forever.
The EC50 was made possible through the financial partnership of Dekko Foundation, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, the Ruth Lilly Philanthropic Foundation and the Dr. Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation.
Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. has helped donors achieve their charitable dreams. The Community Foundation is a public charity that grants over $2 million annually in the areas of education, health, arts and culture, recreation, civic projects, environment and human services. Gifts made to the Community Foundation are tax-deductible.
