NOTICE TO BIDDERS

    Sealed bids will be received by the City of Nappanee, Indiana, Board of Public Works and Safety, at the City of Nappanee Municipal Building, 300 W. Lincoln Street, Nappanee, Indiana, 46550 until 3:00 PM (local time) on July 22, 2019 and then will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Any bids received later than the above time will be returned unopened.

    The description of the work is:    Concrete Paver Replacement Project

City of Nappanee, Elkhart County, Indiana

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  This work shall include removal of the existing concrete pavers and replacement with clay brick pavers on the north side of US 6 (Market St.) from N. Elm St. to 410 ft. east of Morningside Dr.

    COMPLETION DATE:  This work shall be completed by December 13, 2019.

    BID DOCUMENTS:  Contract documents are on file electronically at the Nappanee City Building located at 300 W. Lincoln St., Nappanee, IN 46550 or may be requested via e-mail by contacting the e-mail address [email protected].

    Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms contained in the Contract Documents obtainable from the City of Nappanee Municipal Office as stated above.

    No bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids.  The Board of Works and Safety reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time.  The Board of Works and Safety further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, to the advantage of the City of Nappanee, or to reject all bids.

    BID SECURITY:  Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of Nappanee or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana.

    BONDS:  A Performance and Maintenance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required.

    INDIANA REQUIREMENT:  Standard Questionnaire Form 96 (Revised 2013) which includes a non-collusion affidavit.

    Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin and each bidder must conform with the anti-discrimination provisions of IC 5-16-6.  An Affirmative Action Statement must be submitted at time of bid.
