Al and Dee Meerzo will celebrate 70 years together Monday.

Al and Dee Meerzo were married at the North Muskegon, Mich., Community Methodist Church on July 1, 1949.

They moved from Muskegon, Mich., to West LaFayette in 1959, where Al earned his Master’s and then joined the executive staff of the Office of the Registrar at Purdue University, and Dee joined the staff of Dr. Y.B. Hall, DDS. They moved to

Austin, Texas, in 1973, when Al was appointed Registar at the University of Texas at Austin, and Dee joined the staff of Dr. John T. Dawes, DDS. They moved to Warsaw in 1993, after retiring and are members of the Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Their children, Margo (Jim) Cooper of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mark (Sharon) Meerzo of North Webster; and A. Matthew Meerzo of Papakeechie Lake hosted a light reception on Sunday.
